A night full of food, fun, and (brand new) little gold parrot statuettes!
Held at The Main Hangar Restaurant, the 2016 JayJays are now one for the books. Lesa Andrick and Ruth Ann Holmes coordinated the event and T7 President Robert Lowery presided over the ceremony. Presenters included Doug Fryman, Dina Fryman, Doug Bishop, Kathy Zientara, Andrew Curry, and Penny Williams. In a surprising turn, there was a three-way tie for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role! You can see who the three winners were along with a complete list of statuettes and merit certificates awarded below.
New this year were the JayJay statuettes themselves, which are now 3D-printed and light as a (parrot) feather. As explained, the new JayJays were necessitated due to the deteriorating of the casting mold used all these years. Dina Fryman coordinated the manufacturing of these 3D-printed parrots and additionally adorned each with a blue “7” on the sides of the base. There were even a couple of tiny silver JayJays handed out to two longtime board members stepping down this year: Terri Tate and Jerry Johnson.
