Do you know about the Theatre 7 endowment?
Theatre 7 benefits from an endowment with the Community Foundation of Macon County. This endowment fund was generated by a generous gift from Doug and Peg Schmalz. In addition to their original gift they provided a $25,000 matching challenge gift, if other donors would step up. The Theatre 7 Endowment pays us approximately 5% of the principle annually, about $6,000, and it is our goal to build this endowment to help meet our needs for building upkeep, repairs, utilities, and to continue providing the Decatur area with quality stage productions, as we have since 1964. Please consider giving an annual gift in your name or a gift in memoriam to The Theatre 7 Endowment Fund.
Thank you for supporting Theatre 7, Decatur’s Community Theatre! You can read the newsletter in full here: February Newsletter.

Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island. All they have in common is a wicked past and a secret that will seal their fate, for each has been marked for murder. This zany spoof of British mysteries boasts a plethora of hilarious situations. Murder has never been this funny. “The Murder Room” is a farcical spoof of all crime thrillers. The quick, well-timed dialogue of Jack Sharkey comes through loud and clear, with never a dull moment. There are secret chambers, secret panels and trap lids galore all operated by the most ridiculous contrivances and gloriously mixed up.

KUDOS: A Christmas Chaos
Director Jan Hooten wants to give a big shout out to entire cast and crew of “A Christmas Chaos” for going above and beyond with extra work, donations and teamwork – in addition to stellar performances – to help make our latest fundraiser a rousing success, earning T7 $3,256 to help us with ongoing expenses.
The dinner theatre fundraisers have been a fantastic source of additional revenue and we would have struggled without the extra income this year.
Great job, everyone!
