Theatre 7 Membership

As an all volunteer community theatre group, Theatre 7 welcomes anyone interested in becoming involved. There are lots of opportunities in Theatre 7, both performing onstage and working backstage. Theatre 7 is fortunate enough to have a headquarters building located at 131 N. Water Street in downtown Decatur where we build sets, create costumes, store props, and rehearse. If you have never visited our building, we invite you to stop by sometime.

Becoming a Theatre 7 Member

Becoming a Theatre 7 member basically means that you have paid membership dues.  Membership dues are used to help support organizational costs and are required for anyone who appears on stage in a Theatre 7 production. You can become a Theatre 7 in any of the following ways:

  • Purchase a Patronage
  • Attend a Theatre 7 Membership Meeting (usually held the second Monday of each month except in June, July, & August) at the Theatre 7 Headquarters Building, 131 N. Water St., Decatur, Illinois. Pay your membership dues.
  • Attend an audition for a play and speak to the show's producer or director. Pay your membership dues.
  • Mail a check (made payable to Theatre 7) for your membership dues.
    • Mail to:

Benefits of Membership

Occasionally we are asked the difference between being a Theatre 7 volunteer and a Theatre 7 member.  Anyone appearing on stage must become a member for insurance purposes.  Additionally, members receive the following benefits:

  • Tax-deductible dues
  • One year subscription to the Theatre 7 Newsletter (On Stage)
  • A voice in deciding each season's shows
  • A vote for Theatre 7 best acting performances (Jay Jay Awards)

Membership Dues

Theatre 7 memberships are renewed at the beginning of each season on September 1.

Cost:

$15 per year for an Individual Membership

$7 per year for each additional family member 13 years and older (not to exceed $30 per family)
